What started as one small team grew from a desire to create the type of basketball environment we wanted for our own family—a place where players are challenged to think, encouraged to take ownership, and surrounded by people who care about their growth.
As our program and coaching experience grew, so did our understanding of how players learn best. Today, Hive Pack is built around creating meaningful experiences that help athletes understand the game, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of basketball.

Meet Coach Matt
Founder & Director
Hive Pack Hoops was created from a simple belief: young athletes deserve a basketball experience that develops more than just skills.
After more than two decades as a coach and educator, Matt Reinhold built Hive Pack around a different approach to player development—one focused on helping athletes understand the game, make decisions, and grow with confidence.
Beginning his coaching career at 19 years old as a varsity assistant, Matt has coached at three of Iowa's largest high schools, spent 18 years as a classroom teacher, and worked with players through more than 20 sessions of Snow Valley Basketball School. Those experiences shaped his belief that the best development happens when players are challenged to think, adapt, and take ownership.
